Tinker Bell Moves on From Peter Pan

30daycolouringchallenge

I am continuing with the 30 Day Colouring Challenge from The Daily Marker. Today is Day 5. I went in to my colouring book stash and grabbed  one that I bought the last time I was in Disney World. It is a Tinker Bell book. I have had it for years, as you can see some of my little cousins have already gotten to it. There are scribbles on Tink’s face.

The Tinker Bell I know is from the Peter Pan movie. She is in love with Peter so she follows him around every where and gets jealous when Wendy comes into the picture. It looks like Tink has let Wendy have Peter and is moving on with her life. She has even made some friends. I have no idea who these other fairy girls are.

I forgot how easy it is to colour with crayons. I was able to colour several pictures in a short amount of time. I got a little bored with the Tink pictures though, so I decided to spice it up a bit. Tink couldn’t have spent all these years mooning over Peter. She must have done something with her life…like getting into the music biz perhaps?

At this point, I took a colouring break to get up and do laundry or something. I left the colouring book out. Big mistake! A little while later, I heard hubby giggling to himself. I came over to see what was so funny. Hubby had gotten into my colouring book and I saw a whole new side of Tink.

This is Hubby’s title for his Tinker Bell Series….

Very funny. Maybe Tink’s new friends aren’t the greatest of influences.

30 Day Colouring Challenge — Day 3

I joined Tumblr and Instagram recently and I have been discovering all sort of interesting people and accounts. One of them was The Daily Marker. It is run by a crafter/artist named Kathy. She is hosting a 30 Day Colouring Challenge. She is encouraging you to colour for just 5 or 10 minutes a day. I think its a really great idea because colouring reduces stress. I’ve decided to give the challenge a try. We are on Day 3 already.

For this challenge, I decided to dig out some old colouring books. I can’t do an entire art journal page in 5 to 10 minutes a day, so I needed something simpler. So far, I have ended up colouring for longer, but I worry less about time when I am not comitting myself to a whole art journal spread.

The challenge is a great idea. Now, pardon the silliness of my entry. đŸ˜€

I have this strange little colouring book from Claire Fountaine. It is meant for kids, but whatever, I like it. There are two figures on each page and you have to design their look and colour them in. Super girly, but fun. Here is the book and what a blank page looks like.

This is my entry for today, Day 3, done with good old fashioned pencil crayon. Yay Steampunk!
